Meet Your Teachers
CĂ©cilia Jourdan
I’ve taught French to individuals and groups for over 15 years and guided more than 100 private students through their learning journey. I’m originally from Paris, and studied Linguistics at New York University, graduated from Hunter College with a degree in Romance Languages, and trained in accent reduction for two years with professional dialect coaches in NYC.
I’m also proficient in the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), which helps me break down the sounds of French in a way that’s clear and approachable. But more than that, I teach based on connection. I pay close attention to how each person learns, what they’re struggling with, and what will actually help. Every session is adapted, intentional, and grounded in how you learn best.
For the past five years, I’ve led Hello French, creating trusted content, courses, and cultural resources for a global community of 2 millions francophiles and learners.

Marie Lola Sendra
I’ve been teaching French for over 10 years, with experience at institutions like the Alliance Française and the French American School of New York. I’m originally from the South of France and earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in French Literature from the University of Toulouse, where I also studied phonetics, grammar, and didactics.
I’m a certified DELF examiner and have completed professional trainings in the IB program. I co-authored three French learning books with Cécilia Jourdan at Hello French, including one on phonetics that helps students approach pronunciation with clarity and confidence. My teaching is guided by curiosity, connection, and creativity. I love helping students build confidence while exploring culture, music, literature, and everyday French in ways that feel meaningful to them.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading, dancing to flamenco, and finding hidden gems in local bookstores.
